This school year, 100% of high school seniors who attend Newark’s Great Oaks Legacy Charter School submitted college applications. Additionally, as a result of engaging workshops and admissions presentations from the public charter’s College and Career office, over 80% of students have received acceptances from top universities, including Temple, Penn State, and Rutgers. This is particularly notable given that school-age children across the globe experienced significant setbacks in their learning progress during the Covid-19 pandemic.

To commemorate these college acceptances and other postsecondary pathway commitments, this past Friday Great Oaks Legacy hosted an afternoon of celebration to recognize the seniors as they prepare for the next step in their respective educational journeys to college and careers.
