BREAKING: New Billboards Take Aim at NJEA’s Power Over Murphy
May 3, 2021MURPHY: Here’s How the Deck Is Stacked Against Special Education Parents Fighting For What Their Children Need
May 4, 2021Dear Readers: NJ Education Report Wants to Hear From You!
Dear readers,
As you may know, I’ve been working on a series that asks the question, “Is the New Jersey Education Association too strong or too weak?” (You can find the series here.) In this commentary I examine the role the teachers union plays in shaping education for children in the Garden State. Does it elevate our public school system by pressing for fair funding and more support for students? Or does the union’s significant clout and influence come at the expense of better outcomes for under-served students and their families?
Yet the series is incomplete. These questions require more than the perspective of one person and I’d like to hear from you. Are you a teacher, an NJEA staff member, a parent, a student, or simply a New Jerseyan with opinions about how the union’s presence, both in Trenton and in our school districts, affects public education?
NJ Education Report wants to hear from you!
No need for a long thought-piece, although those are welcome too. You can email me at lwaters@njedreport.com with whatever you want to say in whatever form appeals to you.
Thanks in advance for your contributions.
