June 27, 2024Opportunity For Schools to Advance Holocaust Awareness
This is a submission from 2GNJ.
The goal of 2GNJ-Advancing Holocaust Awareness is to promote an understanding of the Holocaust and its impact on the world. We are a group of volunteer educational professionals dedicated to helping schools comply with New Jersey law that ensures students will study the Holocaust. Our Speakers’ Bureau and professional development focus is designed to promote understanding, to acknowledge what we have learned from the past, and to honor the memory of the victims of the Holocaust.
Our speakers are retired educators who are children of Holocaust survivors and who have had a direct link to their families’ stories. The survivors are the true witnesses to the effect of intolerance and hate. Our Holocaust studies plans have been designed to help teachers navigate the extensive resources available to promote further understanding of the Holocaust and its impact on the world. We have used approved books and positive learning strategies to help students at all levels of instruction develop kindness, acceptance, diversity, respect and tolerance.
We offer complimentary services to all schools including:
- Speakers who are children of Holocaust survivors (2nd generation)
- Free presentations to schools (teachers and/or students)
- Sample lesson plans and curricula for teachers with in-service day
- Book recommendations and videos from approved sources
If you are interested in bringing 2GNJ-Advancing Holocaust Awareness to your teachers and/or students for in-service, classroom visit or general assembly, please leave your contact information at info@2GNJ.org and we will be happy to contact you to plan for the 2024-25 school year.
