April 5, 2012$1K/Hour for Curriculum Writing?
The Star-Ledger reports today that Shirley Miles has been working as a “professional developer” for curriculum writing for the Paterson Public Schools. Her fee, the paper reports, is $7,244 per day. Miles was recently fired by the Department of Defense Education Activity for “allegedly steering jobs to friends and relatives and not reporting her vacation days properly. She also allegedly didn’t properly submit travel expenses.”
Most likely the per diem goes to her current employee, Curriculum Focal Point, and it’s surely not possible that the fee – which comes out to $1,114 per hour – is solely for her contributions to Paterson’s curriculum. If so, it must be a heck of an overhaul.
