October 10, 2023New Rankings: New Jersey Is 5th Safest School System in the Country
According to a new state-by-state ranking of school district safety performed by a company called Scholaroo, New Jersey is the fifth safest state school system in the country. The data reflects rate of bullying and cyber-bullying, exposure to illegal drugs, rate of school shootings, rate of forced sexual intercourse, rate of physical attack or threat with a weapon, the certification of school resource officers, and how safe students feel at school.
The ten safest school systems, in order of rank, are:
#1 Washington
#2 Delaware
#3 Kentucky
#4 Oklahoma
#5 New Jersey
#6 Connecticut
#7 Minnesota
#8 South Dakota
#9 Massachusetts
#10 Vermont
The ten most unsafe state school systems are (starting at the bottom) Georgia, Louisiana, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Texas, New York, Tennessee, Alabama, Florida, and Arkansas.
