According to a new report from the New Jersey Anti-Bullying Task Force, during school years 2016-2022 there was an “alarming increase” in harassment, intimidation and bullying (HIB) incidents. Bias-incidents have quadrupled and HIB cases are the highest they’ve ever been.
Task Force chairperson Shannon Cuttle said in a statement, “We all have a responsibility to ensure welcoming, inclusive, safe schools for all students, staff, and families in New Jersey.”
The majority of incidents were “electronic,” or on social media. Here is how the incidents break down from 2019-2020:

- Highland Park Middle School: 18.9
- James Cotten Intermediate School (Willingboro): 18.3
- Peoples Preparatory Charter (Newark):17.8
- Benjamin Franklin School (Elizabeth): 16.7
- Helen Fort Middle School (Pemberton): 14
- Lakeside Middle School (Millville): 13.8
- Luis Munoz-Rivera Middle School (Trenton): 13.6
- George Washington Carver Elementary (Newark): 13.4
- Sgt. Dominick Pilla Elementary (Vineland): 12.7
- Newcomb Middle School (Pemberton): 11.4
- William Davies Middle School (Hamilton): 11.2
- Willingboro High School: 10.9

I think Hope Community Charter School is in Camden. Hope Academy Charter School is in Asbury Park, and it is a very good school. This needs to be corrected.
