Today WalletHub released its report on the “Best States for Racial Equality in Education,” along with accompanying videos and audio files. New Jersey ranked 41st under this category, beating Iowa, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Massachusetts, New York, Connecticut, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. The top five states were Wyoming, West Virginia, New Mexico, Idaho, and Montana, says the for-profit personal finance site.

In order to determine which states have the most racial equality in education, WalletHub compared the 50 states across six key metrics. The data compares the difference between white and black Americans in areas such as high school and college degrees, test scores and graduation rates. Below are the highlights from the report:

• 18^th – Share of Adults with at Least a High School Degree
• 44^th – Share of Adults with at Least a Bachelor’s Degree
• 22^nd – Standardized-Test Scores
• 32^nd – Mean SAT Score
• 43^rd – Average ACT Score
• 34^th – Public High School Graduation Rate
